Name

[edit]

Although it was moved without discussion (but in good faith?), making a tentative case for this name. Some alternative claims do not qualify as a conspiracy theory as defined by WP, although many assuredly do. Beyond the existence of the groom's dental remains, no particular detail is widely agreed upon. UpdateNerd (talk) 08:33, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It should not have been moved without consensus. This is not some run-of-the-mill article and it should have been discussed. Kierzek (talk) 14:48, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That can't be emphasized enough. The name needs be restored asap. Considering the 80th anniversary of WWII's end we need to keep relevant articles easy to find. (Debate the name another year lol.) @Diannaa: Do you have power to send an article back to the evil location from whence it came? UpdateNerd (talk) 08:42, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved it back. A RM should be used here given that the article has long been at the original title and there are a vast number of high quality sources about why pretty much everything disputing the commonly held account of Hitler's death is a fringe view which is usually pushed in bad faith. Nick-D (talk) 09:36, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request Change to “Conspiracies”, excludes theories as it should discuss other things which do nae meet the common definition of a Conspiracy theory, as many of them do not include supernational or global organisations ToadGuy101 (talk) 10:57, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Will wait until consensus is agreed upon ToadGuy101 (talk) 11:06, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved it back to Conspiracy theories about Adolf Hitler's death. It's all fringe theeories, no actual conspiracies, so "Conspiracies about Adolf Hitler's death" is not an appropriate title. Please stop moving this page. You have broken numerous redirects while doing so. Diannaa (talk) 11:07, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I said I would wait until consensus because of the reversion. I am new to editing on Wikipedia and I was in the process of fixing redirects and archives while you reverted it, and still am. ToadGuy101 (talk) 11:13, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think I have everything fixed now. Please don't move any more pages. Diannaa (talk) 11:23, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia

[edit]

There is a theory about hitlers death which believes he escaped to Indonesia. There are several sources online, including many possible photographs of someone who was alleged to be hitler ToadGuy101 (talk) 11:07, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to share them. (Quora isn't a WP:RS). UpdateNerd (talk) 03:34, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What's with the weird page moves

[edit]

My watchlist this morning is full of what looks like this page getting moved back and forth between alternate titles. What's going on? Simonm223 (talk) 12:51, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

See the “Name” thread above. Kierzek (talk) 14:28, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Looks like I missed a tempest in a teapot. Glad cooler heads prevailed. Simonm223 (talk) 14:32, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Its now known fact its not conspiracy, cia documents released ages ago, and argentinian documents prove that he fled to argentina and harbour two children there. The russian remains with the bullet in the head are apparently female remains not hitlers 92.18.52.19 (talk) 12:59, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Somajyoti 15:49, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
All debunked fringe, except for possibly the skull, which doesn’t prove anything. See this article for WP:RS cited text and Death of Adolf Hitler article. Kierzek (talk) 00:24, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Milei's declassified files

[edit]

Should there be a sentence or two about Milei declassifying new files regarding this matter? CerealContainer (talk) 02:04, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No, first because Hitler died in Berlin and secondly, nothing has been released yet that may be relevant to a fringe theory. Kierzek (talk) 02:10, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not disputing that he died in Berlin. I'm just saying that Milei's act of declassifying the files should be part of the article. To give a comparison, I want a reference to it similar to how Trump declassifying the JFK files is mentioned in the JFK assassination article. CerealContainer (talk) 00:31, 7 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
