Overstating Ukraines role and infobox update
[edit]Ukraine is in the infobox direstly, however, all they did was conduct a drone strike on a Wagner position once. This is pretty insignificant compared to the very important roles Iran, Turkey, Russia and the UAE have played. Iran provided over 120 million dollars in weapons to the SAF, Turkey provided crucial hi-tech drones, Russia has been providing "unlimited qualitative military aid to the SAF since last spring and the UAE has single handedly propped up the RSF. The infobox needs a serious rework- and quickly.[1]
- Correct, it needs updating. Propose to remove Ukraine and redirect Ukrainian involvement into the main body of the article for reference. Other aforementioned countries should be added to infobox too if their contribution warrants it. Donenne (talk) 23:56, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- It is done. Donenne (talk) 01:03, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
Slight map change
[edit]Since when did the SAF link its forces in western Khartoum I know they made an offensive there but they never actually had said they linked the siege of the Al-Shajara corps SDUpdates32349 (talk) 22:14, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Map inaccuracies
[edit]I'm not sure what sources are being used to create the map, but from what I can tell, it has some inaccuracies. The first being that the Armored Corps siege has not been broken yet, as per @SDUpdates32349. The second issue is that Tuti island is still under RSF control. I have not seen these updates on the news nor on any of the few up to date maps on the situation, though if I am wrong on this, please let me know. Tornadoboy7 (talk) 21:28, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Miki1234568 can you please elaborate on your sources per the comment above. FuzzyMagma (talk) 22:21, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have been wanting to say this for a long time but forgot, yes it is true that has never happened and there has been no news about East Nile falling, I know the army has a lot of control there but not full. Also this new user @Miki1234568 has been not just making incorrect changes to the Khartoum map but has also done so to the main page's map. He showed the siege of EN Nahud lifted by the east of the city. But I am sure the army did lay siege on the Island. SDUpdates32349 (talk) 08:38, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- @SDUpdates32349 About that there is map that shows full control in east nile source Miki1234568 (talk) 08:49, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- About en nahud, the same source says overwhise, black color in this is local persons that rebels against rsf, so I put it as saf control, but road is still cut which is also on wiki map Miki1234568 (talk) 14:32, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- And mostly i take info from this source, is very accurate Miki1234568 (talk) 08:49, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Plus there is a little news from this conflict so i simply will take this map as a main source Miki1234568 (talk) 08:52, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- But yeah about tuti island and forest I will change it Miki1234568 (talk) 08:53, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks @Miki1234568, it is really nice that someone is updating the map. keep the good work.
- @SDUpdates32349 most people here are receptive to constructive critique, so please work with but not against and ease on the "new user" label. FuzzyMagma (talk) 14:13, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Your welcome Miki1234568 (talk) 14:27, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. Tornadoboy7 (talk) 14:30, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, your welcome too. Miki1234568 (talk) 14:33, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. Tornadoboy7 (talk) 14:30, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- @FuzzyMagma, that is absolutely not attacking at all. I said he was new to editing on these Sudan topics because I have never seen him before. That is not attacking that is a fact. Respectfully, this does not have to be a problem on every single talk page I go to. But next time I will be specific if it is considered "attacking." SDUpdates32349 (talk) 19:50, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Comment on content, not on the contributor.
- descripting someone as "this new user" does not sound as friendly as you might think. FuzzyMagma (talk) 22:46, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- And also that is not being against either SDUpdates32349 (talk) 19:50, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Your welcome Miki1234568 (talk) 14:27, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- But probably that forest was abandoned by rsf and saf still not entered here, so it will be on saf control, but yeah, tuti island is rsf controled (probably for not long), so that will be changed Miki1234568 (talk) 14:36, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- But yeah about tuti island and forest I will change it Miki1234568 (talk) 08:53, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for showing the sources. I hope you understand however it is important to actually put the source next to what happened. That is why we had to discuss this because when you put certain victories and map changes I searched it up and couldn't find anything. So next time, just show your source before you publish your edit. Thank you for all your contributes to this topic. SDUpdates32349 (talk) 19:52, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, no problem Miki1234568 (talk) 18:58, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Done. Thanks everybody for that. --Miki1234568 (talk) 17:34, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
End of the Battle
[edit]With the fall of the last major stronghold of the RSF in Jabal Aulia and the declaration by the de facto leader of Sudan that Khartoum is free, is the battle not over? Autochrome8 (talk) 17:51, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
- Latest reports I've seen is that the RSF are retreating, incl. via the Jebel Aulia bridge. Theres talk about an battle to occur over this bridge while the core city has now fallen to SAF. Such as here [2] Kennet Mattfolk (talk) 18:48, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

- I guess it comes down to, the city itself vs Khartum state with Omdurman. The battle for the City may be over. What is this article about the state or city and is the battle also over for Omdurman etc. ? Kennet Mattfolk (talk) 22:11, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
- It's about the areas within the Khartoum scope (the three main cities constituting the Khartoum metro area; Omdurman, Khartoum and Khartoum North) Vamos Palmeiras (talk) 02:19, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

"Liberation of Khartoum" or "Recapture of Khartoum" article creation
[edit]Now that the battle seems to have ended with the remaining confrontations in Omdurman being present and Khartoum itself being liberated from what I have seen. I suppose an article on this liberation would be fit for such a major accomplishment in this war (THIS IS THE LIBERATION OF A CAPITAL CITY, A TURNING POINT).
