- ... that Alan Wills named his record label after Delta blues and Sonic Youth? Source: Billboard - Deltasonic Records Founder Alan Wills Dead at 52: "The name Deltasonic is an amalgamation of the words Delta, referencing the Delta blues, and Sonic, in homage to Sonic Youth, which Wills believed was 'just the coolest band name ever.'"

Overall: The only issue I can see is the hook's interesting-ness is debatable, and might not appeal to a wide audience. I found it pretty interesting as someone not familiar with the anything related to this person, so am passing this. jolielover♥talk 07:46, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
I agree with Jolielover about the hook's interestingness. A new hook is needed. SL93 (talk) 19:43, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
- Not the nom, but I'd be inclined to go with something about him learning management from his father who worked on nuclear warning systems, the music/nukes contrast is fun. Rusalkii (talk) 01:52, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks all, I'll come back with a new suggestion soon! Jonathan Deamer (talk) 19:09, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for bearing with me, folks.
- Alt 1: ... that Alan Wills, manager of The Coral, learned about management from his father, who was "in charge of the UK's nuclear early warning system"?Source: The Independent - Alan Wills: Founder of Deltasonic, the Liverpool record label that launched The Coral and The Zutons: "As well as being their label boss over six albums, Wills managed The Coral for 18 months."
- Alt 2: ... that music manager Alan Wills learned about management from his father, who was "in charge of the UK's nuclear early warning system"? Source: Music Week - Coral's team up for honour: "Wills learned about management from his father, who was in charge of the UK's nuclear early warning system. "He told me it's not about doing everything yourself, but about building teams, finding the best people and letting them get on with it," says Wills."

Passing ALT2.The article's new enough, long enough, neutral and well-sourced. The hook is cited in the article and within length. No close paraphrasing issues. FTR, both alts are fine, I only plumped for the second one on account of keeping it tight, people, as Apone might say. But if there's a strong preference for mentioning the band, feel free to slide it in per WP:NOTBURO. I also tried to avoid repetition of "manage-", but admittedly since that was his job, I couldn't see how... anyway, GTG. Fortuna, Imperatrix Mundi 11:31, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
