Halumsar (Persian: هلومسر, also Romanized as Halūmsar)[1] is a village in Bala Khiyaban-e Litkuh Rural District, in the Central District of Amol County, Mazandaran Province, Iran. According to the 2006 census, its population was 778, in 188 families.[2]

Geography

Halumsar is located in northern Iran, within the humid, subtropical region of Mazandaran Province, which borders the Caspian Sea. Its geography includes fertile plains and proximity to the Alborz mountain range.[3]

Economy

The local economy is based mainly on agriculture, animal husbandry, and horticulture, with rice paddies and citrus orchards being common throughout the region.[4]

Culture

The residents of Halumsar are ethnically Mazandarani and speak the Mazandarani language as well as Persian. Traditional music, local crafts, and regional cuisine are significant parts of the village’s cultural life.[5]

Transportation

Halumsar is connected by rural roads to the city of Amol and surrounding villages. Local minibuses and taxis are the primary modes of transport.[6]

Education

The village has at least one primary school serving local children, with secondary education provided in nearby towns under the supervision of the Ministry of Education.[7]

Demographics

According to the Statistical Center of Iran, the 2006 census recorded 778 residents in 188 families.[8] Updated figures from the 2016 census show modest population growth typical for rural areas in Mazandaran Province.[9]
