Four Consciousnesses

The Four Consciousnesses (Chinese: 四个意识) is a political concept by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) general secretary Xi Jinping in January 2016. The concept includes political consciousness,^[a] consciousness of the overall situation,^[b] consciousness of the core,^[c] and compliance consciousness.^[d]^[1]^[2]

History

The Four Consciousnesses was first proposed on 29 January 2016 at a meeting of the CCP Politburo.^[3]^[4]
