Forbes Township is a township in Holt County, Missouri, United States.[2] At the 2020 census, its population was 167.[3] It is roughly 42 square miles. The village of Forbes is located in its southwest.
Forbes Township was established on March 22, 1871, out of the southern portion of Nodaway Township[4] A year later, on May 10, 1872, the township's northern boundary changed to match the congressional boundary resulting in Forbes Township expanding by six sections.[4]
The Kansas City, St. Joseph, and Council Bluffs Railroad was completed through this township in 1869.
