He took the name Mafundi? What does it mean? When did he adopt it?

Mafundi is Swahili for craftspeople / artisans?

One challenge I see for this subject is that he is covered and discussed extensively in Black Nationalist and Socialist media but I am not seeing much in what Wikipedia policy considers reliable independent sources. Is there coverage in newspaper archives? I also wonder if the entry will be maintained properly if it is created. But he's an interesting guy and I support the subject's coverage despite the issues I've raised. Mafundi Day celebrations should be discussed and Mafundi Day should link to this entry if it is created. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:54, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@FloridaArmy - I agree that there is a need for a Wikipedia accepted reliable source. I found this reliable source, which gives extensive details of his life, including his arrests, convictions, and incarcerations:

Recommendations:

Article should highlight his association with Free Alabama Movement and Inmates for Action (though I haven't found "reliable sources" to get details about IFA). The role of these two organizations might make the case for current relevance/notability.
In addition, I think the article should include what he had been convicted of previously that allowed the Habitual Offender act to apply.
