I have changed Elizabeth's estimated birthdate to c. 1372 from c. 1373. This better reflects the fact that Elizabeth had been born by 1373 - cit. ref. Boardman, Early Stewart Kings, and History Scotland, Vol.18, No.5 September/October 2018, "Annabella Drummond: The Patient Queen" by Dr Amy Hayes.
An argument could really be made that Elizabeth's sister Margaret was born c. 1368, when the influence of her great-aunt Margaret Drummond was greatest. This would place Elizabeth's birthdate more comfortably around 1370, making her 17 at her marriage in 1387 rather than 15. However, considering that her first child was born in 1390, this may not have been unusual. Alternatively, Elizabeth could have been merely betrothed before 10 Nov 1387 (Foundation for Medieval Genealogy) and married at some later date between 1387-90. Elizabeth's birthdate ultimately remains a mystery, like so much else in her life. I have elected to place it in the later half of the 1367-73 timespan for the birth of herself and Margaret. However, she may indeed have been born earlier. AngryScot77 (talk) 04:38, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
