Yuriy Yuriiovych Synytsya (Ukrainian: Юрій Юрійович Синиця, born 8 March 1977), is a Ukrainian businessman owner of Collar Company and the football club FC Chernihiv.[2][3][4]
Biography
[edit]Yuriy Synytsya was born on 8 March 1977, in Chernihiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. His father is an engineer and his mother is a teacher of Russian language and literature. As a child, Synytsya dreamed of becoming a football player, but an injury occurred and his parents forbade him to seriously engage in sports.[5] He graduated from the Chernihiv State Institute of Economics and Management, Faculty of Management in the Production Sector.[6]
Collar Company
[edit]In 1995, he founded COLLAR Company, an Ukrainian manufacturer of innovative products for pets, exporting pet products to 78 countries around the world.[7] It all started in the early 90s in Chernihiv there were no pet shops and it was impossible to buy something normal for a dog. With his father they made a collar for their pet from a soldier's belt and this pleased friends and acquaintances. This is how the idea of creating a business was born, which today has several brands, sells and produces its products in many countries around the world.[8] The company has its own production, head office, a team of almost 600 people in Chernihiv and 13 created brands.[9][10] The first office was a two-room apartment in a house in Khrushchev. In 1995 Yuriy and his father were making leather ammunition for animals and in 2003, the company started selling its first product, SuperCat cat litter.[11] In 2022 during the Siege of Chernihiv, all the difficulties, basement "amenities" and shelling, the company did not give up and calls on others to do the same.[12][13][14] The company managed to survive the siege of the city of Chernihiv and start from scratch.[15] After the Siege of Chernihiv, Yuriy announced that his brand is among those presented at the grand Shanghai 2023 fair in China.[16] He also managed to make products by his company made in Ukraine and among customers in Ukraine, the most popular brands were SuperCat, Superium and Waufog, increasing customer orders by 30%.[17] Yuriy started to cooperate with Amazon in order to use this channel to sell the products not sold in Ukraine. The company also started to cooperate with NASA where it agreed on the designs for new accessories: leashes, business cards, tape measures, bracelets and address books.[18]
Yagidna Kraina
[edit]In 2023 he acquired the farm Yagidna Kraina, located in Kyselivka village, on the way from Novoselivka to Mena.[19] After 2022, during the battles for Chernihiv, the territory of Yagidna Kraina was damaged. Yuriy after the acquistion of the farm invited some Chernihiv' residents and from nearby villages to work. As soon as it opened, the farm even expanded. In the summer, a large banner even appeared on the Kiev highway, in Yagidny near Chernihiv.[20][21]

[edit]In 2003, he founded the FC Chernihiv a small team in the city of Chernihiv, named USB Chernihiv. The team tooks to the field of the Chernihiv Military Lyceum stadium for the first time.[22] Synytsya step by step invested in the club, appointed the experienced Vadym Postovoy as a coach in order to developing young local player the city of Chernihiv and nearby. The club to compete in Ukrainian Amateur Football Championship and win the Chernihiv Oblast Football Federation in 2019.[23][24] Later he managed to sign the experienced players such as Anatoliy Tymofeyev[25] and Vyacheslav Koydan.[26] The club reached for the first time, the Third preliminary round of 2021–22 Ukrainian Cup, winning to Chaika by penalty, in Makariv.[27] Synytsya efforts were rewarded, in fact in 2022 after much speculation, it became official that the club was admitted to Ukrainian First League for the first time in its history.[28][29][30][31] In 2024 some players, who grew up in the team such us Anatoliy Romanchenko and Maksym Serdyuk, received offers from better clubs and they moved to Inhulets Petrove and Livyi Bereh Kyiv, respectively.[32][33] During the winter season in January 2025 he managed to bring important players to the club such as Dmytro Fatyeyev, Yehor Shalfyeyev, Yehor Kartushov who played many years for Desna Chernihiv.[34][35][36]
Chernihiv Arena
[edit]In 2017, Chernihiv Arena was built in Chernihiv at Yuriy Synytsya's initiative. After the established of the football club FC Chernihiv, Synytsya noticed that the existing stadium do not match the standards like Lokomotiv stadium and the Chernihiv Stadium is the Desna Chernihiv football field, its rent was quite high, and at this point he start developing his idea that a team needs its own infrastructure.[37] In 2012, Synytsya, with the club's management, made their first attempts to find land for the construction of the new stadium which was founded at ZAZ.[38]
Community service
[edit]In 2022, during the Siege of Chernihiv, Synytsya's company, led by Varvara Petrenko and with the help of the inventor of Puller, Sergei Shkot, launched a social project - helping Chernihiv residents with pets to evacuate the city.[39] In 2023, he began the process of negotiations with the Japanese on the restoration of the city in particular they have just managed to restore the two kindergartens in Chernihiv that were most affected by Russian shelling during the Siege of Chernihiv.[40]
Personal life
[edit]Synytsya has a daughter. His younger brother Mykola is the CEO of FC Chernihiv.[41][42]
