The Tuareg Caliphate is a fictional alternative history country. The country spans from one side of the Sahara Desert to the other and sits in between Barbary and The Sahel. The people there are primarily Muslim tribesman who sometimes reside in cities and villages. Trade networks influences lead to the Caliphate's quick rise across the sahara. It is allied with many surrounding countries such as the Ottomans, Tunisia, Egypt and Sudan. It also made enemies such as Spain, Italy and the USA. Arab slave trade saw much success here due to lack of law enforcement throughout the large empire The empire was founded in 1666 and dissolved in 1859. Lack of stable resources and communication within the population led to the demise of the Caliphate. Not long after the Caliph folded, the scramble for Africa took place and with it, most of the remaining culture fell. [1]
