Pune Design Festival, commonly abbreviated as PDF is a design conference organized in Pune, India, by the Association of Designers of India. The first edition took place in 2006[1]. The festival was started by a group of professional designers. It is essentially a design event in the format of a 2 day conference, which is preceded by week long series of events, like workshops, open house, virtual campus tours etc. It usually takes place in the first quarter of the calendar year. It was started to spread the awareness about the profession of Design in India, and also to bring the designers community together. [2]

Pune has a vibrant design and manufacturing industry and has a large number of professional designers and design houses.

The conference invites designers and people from the allied fields of design to present their work as talks, workshops, panel discussions, and film screenings.

Under PDF Week, several design studios across Pune invite students, professionals and other interested people to witness their work and processes[3].

Pune Design Festival (Conference)

The flagship event of PDF is a two-day conference conducted at Hyatt Regency. The conference includes talks, workshops, film screenings, and award presentations. [3] The conference also includes "Battle of Projects", a design competition organized by ADI for design students.
