Career

[edit]

Prabhakar was among the founding members of the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), a political party that played a significant role in the creation of Jharkhand as a separate state. Over the years, he has been associated with various political parties and movements in the region.[3][2]

He is accredited with bringing AJSU into NDA after meeting with L. K. Advani[8] the then Home Minister of India in 1999.[9] He served as the Vice President of AJSU[4] before joining BJP in 2014. There he served as the Principal Spokesperson of BJP[6] during the term of CM Raghubar Das .

In 2019, he left BJP and joined National People's Party (India)[6] to contest election from Nala constituency.[10] However , after his defeat he withdrew from public life. He resurfaced into active politics after 6 years in January, 2025 by rejoining AJSU.[11][12] His return to AJSU underscores his roots in the Jharkhand movement and his influence in regional politics.[13]
