Paraypora


Paraypora is a village in the Sopore tehsil of Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, India.[1]The village is known for its apple orchards, local markets, and cultural heritage. It is one of the several villages in the fruit-growing region of North Kashmir, contributing to the economy of Sopore, often called the "Apple Town of Kashmir."

Geography

The region experiences a temperate climate, with cold winters and mild summers. It is also close to Wular lake, one of Asia's largest freshwater lakes, which supports the local ecosystem and economy.

Economy

Paraypora is part of the Sopore apple trade, contributing to the fruit industry of Jammu and Kashmir. Other crops grown in the village include rice, maize, and vegetables. Small-scale businesses, including handicrafts and carpet weaving, also contribute to the local economy.
