The Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park is an industrial facility under development in Dadinkowa, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, Nigeria. It is named after Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari. The project is overseen by the Gombe State Government as part of efforts to improve industrial infrastructure and support economic activities within the state,[1][2][3][4][5][6]
The park was initiated during the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. The aim is to provide infrastructure for manufacturing and processing industries. In September 2021, the Gombe State Executive Council approved over ₦16 billion for the first phase of construction, including road networks, power supply infrastructure, and water systems[7][8][9][10][11][12]
Location and Infrastructure
[edit]The industrial park is located near the Dadinkowa Dam, which supplies hydroelectric power to the region. The location was selected to utilize existing energy infrastructure and proximity to major road networks for logistics support. As of early 2025, construction is ongoing, with installations focused on internal roads, electricity lines, and administrative structures.[13][14]
Investment and Partnerships
[edit]The project is being funded through the Gombe State Government with support from development partners. Over ₦16.4 billion was approved for the first phase of construction[15][16][17].
According to official reports, the project has received expressions of interest from both local and international stakeholders in agribusiness, renewable energy, and light manufacturing. Organizations such as Justicia Consulting, Premier Seeds, and Mercy Corps were mentioned as potential partners for operational activities at the park
Economic Impact
[edit]Once fully operational, the park is projected to:
- Host over 300 factories and industrial entities
- Create over 20,000 jobs
- Catalyze ancillary developments like housing and services
- Support Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) and National Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) [1][4][5][19]
Current Status
[edit]As of 2025, the park’s infrastructure development is progressing, with installation of power infrastructure nearing completion[20]. Several companies are preparing to commence operations, and the park continues to draw national and international attention for its potential[21][22]
