(German for "German National Student Space Flight Society") is an association of German aerospace clubs, similar to Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. The headquarter is in Darmstad, Germany.[1] It was founded in December 2021.[2][3]
Main duty of the organisation is giving the members a network to each other and supporting space students on a national level.[4]
The members work on rockets, CubeSats[5], rovers and other space related research. They are also taking part in
History
[edit]Student based rocketry is going back to the beginning of the 20th century. The first group, WARR, was founded in 1960[6], while most other groups were founded in the 21st century.
During the International Astronautical Congress 2018 in Bremen, three clubs came up with the idea of founding a national organization. In 2021 it was founded.
Since the formation, BVSR organizes every year an conference in a different city in Germany. Also workshops and tours at companies and space organisations are held.[7]
