Gateway House is a prominent think tank based in Mumbai, India. It was founded in 2009 by Manjeet Kripalani, a former journalist, and Neelam Deo, a former Indian ambassador[1]. It is the first Indian think tank to have been founded by two women. Gateway House conducts original research in areas such as geo-economics, geopolitics, foreign policy analysis, bilateral relations, national security, terrorism, science, technology, innovation, energy, and environment. Gateway House’s research is recognized in the University of Pennsylvania’s Global Go To Think Tank Index, ranking #26 in “Top Think Tanks in China, India, Japan, and Korea” in 2025[2].
