Ang Mutya ng Section E (lit. 'The Pearl of Section E') is a 2025 Philippine romantic comedy drama television series, adapted from the original Wattpad novel of the same title, authored by Lara Flores (eatmore2behappy). The series is written and directed by Theodore Boborol, who has previously worked on one of the notable wattpad adaptations such as The Rain In España in 2022. It premiered on January 3, 2025 on Viva One and airs every Friday.

Plot
[edit]A notorious all-male section is shaken up by the arrival of a female transfer student, causing chaos as the grumpy president tries to drive her away.[1]
Background and release
[edit]The series is based on a popular Wattpad book trilogy of the same name by the Filipino author Lara Flores, also known by her pseudonym Eatmore2behappy. The trilogy has reportedly amassed a total of 348 million reads, as of December 2024.[2][3] The cast and crew of the show held a press conference in November 2024 at the Viva Café.[4] The director, Theodore Boborol, promised fans of the books that Mutya would remain faithful to the source material. Flores, the author, affirmed Boborol's promise, revealing that the production secured her consent before making any significant changes to the story.[2]
