Her passion led her into the South African film industry, where she quickly established herself as a dependable and skilled artist in the field of makeup for television and cinema. [2]
Career
[edit]Morgenrood began her career working on local productions before joining larger international film sets. She gained early recognition as part of the makeup team on the historical action-adventure series Black Sails. Her ability to create realistic character transformations using prosthetics and makeup gained attention from both local and international producers.
In Tomb Raider (2018), she served as a Daily Crowd Makeup Artist, specializing in continuity for action sequences, natural looks in rugged outdoor environments, and maintaining makeup under high-paced conditions. Her responsibilities included on-location touch-ups, worn aesthetics, and adapting to diverse lighting conditions.
For the critically acclaimed historical drama The Woman King, Morgenrood worked on culturally significant makeup looks, collaborating with costume and hair teams to maintain authenticity and creative integrity.
