A Pony Met the World Today is a children's book written by Vivian Laughman and published on 16 August 2024. After writing began in January 2023, it underwent the publication process in August of the same year and was published one year later. It is currently available to be purchased at Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
Overview
[edit]Within twenty pages, the book narrates the story of a young pony who is born on a farm, detailing the experiences of her first day, including being nursed, trotting around, and meeting another character.[1]
Development
[edit]Vivian Laughman is a pony breeding farm manager who graduated from Centenary College with a degree in equine studies.[1] Since she left her career as a full-time riding instructor in 2015, she has worked in a barn as a caretaker. After becoming a mother in early 2022, she often read books to her daughter, which gave her inspiration to write her own. The depictions of the ponies in her book are based on two real ponies at the barn she works in.
