On July 7 2014, A stabbing attack occurred in the Democracy square in San José, Costa Rica injuring 3 people after the country was eliminated by the Netherlands in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.[1] The stabbing caused Costa Rica fans to start clashing with the police resulting in many getting arrested and a human barricade was created after the incident [2]
