Duvvur Nageshwar Reddyy is an Indian gastroenterologist.[1][2] He hails from Alur, near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. He is the chairman and founder of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) at Hyderabad, the biggest gastroenterology hospital in the world.[3][better source needed] He is the first Indian doctor to receive all the three Padma Awards.[4] He received the Padma Shri in 2002, Padma Bhushan in 2016 and Padma Vibhushan in 2025, for his contributions to medicine.[5][6][7]

An elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences,[8] he was given the world's highest gastroenterology award in Shanghai, China, at a function held in September, 2013.[9] He was given the Rudolf V. Schindler Award, the highest category in the Crystal Awards named after Schindler.[10]

The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) awarded Reddy the Master Endoscopist Award in 2009.[11]

He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2016. [12]

In 2002 he was awarded the Padma Shri, which is one of the highest civilian awards given by the Government of India. [13]
