Louisiana's 14th State Senate district

A special election was held in the U.S. state of Louisiana to elect a new member for District 14 in the Louisiana Senate, representing East Baton Rouge Parish. The primary was held on February 15, with a runoff general election scheduled on March 29, if it had been necessary. The election filled a vacancy caused by the election of incumbent Democrat Cleo Fields to the United States House of Representatives. The election took place concurrently with a special election in District 23.[1] State representative Larry Selders won the election with 62.4 percent of the vote, necessitating a special election for his seat in House District 67.
