The 1969–70 season was Atlético Madrid's 66th season in existence and the club's 33th consecutive season in the top flight of Spanish football.

Summary

[edit]

In the season, the red and white club won its sixth league title, thanks to the French coach and former Atlético player, Marcel Domingo, who arrived from Granada CF[1] and counted on one of the most memorable teams in its history: Rodri, Melo, Ovejero, Eusebius, Calleja, Irureta,[2] Adelardo, Luis Aragonés,[3] Alberto, Ufarte and José Eulogio Gárate.[4]
