Proposed county infobox template change

A discussion is ongoing at Template talk:Infobox English county#Proposal: remove the ethnicity section which is likely of interest to this project. The original proposal is for straight removal of the ethnicity field from the template but keeping the population field. A modification to the proposal includes this also but seeks the addition of two optional, undefined statistical fields within the non-metropolitan and unitary authority sections of the county infoboxes — at present there are no demographic statistical fields, other than population under these headings. This and a modified proposal would have the same effect on the North East's county articles. A result of the change, if consented to, is the restriction of demographics, other than population to the local authority administrative sections of the county infoboxes. Consett pronunciation

As far as I can tell the local pronunciation sounds like "consirt" (kɒnsət) rather than "consit" (kɒnsɪt) which I imagine most other non-locals would expect it to be. However the article for Consett doesn't give the pronunciation and the only secondary sources I can find support the latter pronunciation - Dictionary.com, Collins dictionary. Can a local help confirm the pronunciation and add it to the article ideally with a reliable source? Microwave Anarchist (talk) 23:59, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
