Voice Guidelines
[edit]Beginner here. I can't seem to find a rule for this, but is there a specific voice you have to put on/are there certain voices you can't do (e.g. a news reporter kinda voice) or guidelines for what voice you'll use, or does it not matter, cause I wanted to change my voice a bit. Thanks! :) DandyBuzzard95 (talk) 09:05, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- @DandyBuzzard95 I don't think I'm one to give answers, but my personal opinion is to use whatever your native accent of English is. I've heard articles from people around the world, so I would just read like how you would speak in everyday life. However, doing a voice similar to a news reporter would most definitely make the words sound clearer to the listener. Did you want to put on a voice for a reason or is it just for fun? - I just prefer to use a slightly different voice as I don't like hearing my natural voice a lot of the time. DandyBuzzard95 (talk) 10:45, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- That should be fine, but the voice must also be clear and understandable to the listener. Solimagon (talk) 12:24, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- All good! Thanks 👍 2401:D005:DE02:D800:D7A:4CD7:A139:A45F (talk) 12:53, 19 July 2025 (UTC)

Voice requests for Talk pages.
[edit]Sometimes, on this- and other-language Wikipedias, I have noticed that a requested article will be a talk page. In these cases, is it generally safe to assume the request is meant to be for the corresponding article itself? I am a new contributor and would like to be as helpful as possible with my time.
