Could someone please assess this article about a conductor? It's rated as a Start in quality, but I would like it assessed against the B-Class criteria. Thank you in advance. Bearian (talk) 03:14, 12 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Article's definitely not start class. I have re-assessed to B-class level, although somebody needs to get citations in for the dogs of desire section. ❤HistoryTheorist❤ 00:00, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, HistoryTheorist. Bearian (talk) 08:37, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Satie was born OTD, and died 1 July 1925. I read the article today and believe that it might be a Good article until the centenary. Prose of bio is fine, music could profit from more detail. Some of this project's fine editors appear in the statistics. I am not one of them, so believe that I should not nominate. What do others think? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:48, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The first step would be to nominate. The statistics show the first editors by added bytes (saying there are more than 700 others) as: Francis Schonken, Tim riley, Mccapra, Softlavender, Jerome Kohl, JackofOz, Mel Etitis, Martinevans123, Ser Amantio di Nicolao, TheBawbb, Modernist, Aza24, Imaginatorium, Hyacinth, Camembert, Kleinzach - no pings to people who sadly can't/don't edit. We all could read the article making improvements. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:48, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the present text (81%) is by me: I overhauled the article three or four years ago, but as it seems peculiarly magnetic to implacable agenda-pushers I'm not interested in further involvement. Tim riley talk 09:07, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Fulda Symphony Orchestra

[edit]

If you're curious, there is discussion at the Talk Page for Fulda Symphony Orchestra re. possible deletion. It's a tricky case (I feel): this orchestra really is pretty unnotable, but they are also a source for performance sound files for a number of our classical music articles. Can somebody please add reliable sources to this stub, which has been unsourced for over 15 years? Bearian (talk) 08:36, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New WikiProject

[edit]

Hello!

I propose a WikiProject with the working title of Art & Architecture Copyedits.

The proposed WikiProject has two main goals:

  1. To copyedit any articles related to Art & Architecture that have the copyedit or clarify tag, and
  2. To create a supportive, welcoming space for newcomers. Experienced editors are also very appreciated, especially for the proposal process, but the WikiProject, once created, will mainly be recruiting newcomers.

If you would like to join, please do comment below, and I'll ping you during the proposal to confirm your intent. I will be posting this message on all related WikiProjects. All experience levels appreciated! 22ManzanaBoy (talk) 15:48, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please source this stub, which has been unsourced for decades, with reliable sources. Some might be transferred from the Spanish language article. Bearian (talk) 22:01, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There is a requested move discussion at Talk:Violin Sonata in G minor (Tartini)#Requested move 19 July 2025 that may be of interest to members of this WikiProject. Векочел (talk) 07:21, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Antoine Carré (guitarist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged as Unreferenced for more than 15 years. Tagged for Notability concerns for 6 months. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have also placed a brief entry at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Music/Performers, bands and songwriters#T. If a neutral editor believes the sources satisfy WP:GNG or WP:MUSICBIO, I’d be very grateful for adoption and drafting help. Happy to provide scans privately if needed. Thanks! Thanks for the pointers. I’ve reviewed WP:MUSICBIO and believe I meet the “multiple reviews of nationally released recordings” criterion. I can supply page numbers or PDFs on request. Edoardo Turbil (talk) 22:33, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
