The creation of policy to guide action and behavior is an essential tool for information professionals in a range of institutional settings in the public and private sectors. This course covers issues related to information policy and law, both in the United States and around the world. Students will learn about the key laws and international agreements which form the foundation for information policies around copyright, privacy, and other contemporary issues. Additionally, students will examine institutional information policies to understand how organizations use different tools and frameworks to guide their activities.
