The concept of Community KPIs adapts this idea into a component of a human centred and participatory design framework for the use of data and technology in cities. Community KPIs allow community members to co-design the metrics which should be used to inform and evaluate initiatives which deploy new technologies and data collection methods for social benefit. They also encourages citizens to gather data and evidence, interpret their findings, build awareness and achieve tangible outcomes. This workshop presented the Community KPIs concept and explored how to implement it, including determining what indicators might be relevant for communities at the local level and how these could fed into policy objectives of local and national government.
