Confirmed

[edit]

Reason for requesting goes here I am an experienced theater director creating a Wikipedia article about my work that has been reviewed multiple times by AfC reviewers. I need to upload several low-resolution scans of historical press articles under fair use to support the notability of the subject. My account is more than 4 days old and has over 10 edits. Please consider granting confirmed user status so I can upload files to the English Wikipedia. Thank you! Gulu Monteiro EDP (talk) 16:19, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. @Gulu Monteiro EDP: Uploading scans of press articles would not comply with Wikipedia's criteria for non-free images, which are stricter than fair use. One of the criteria is that the uploaded image has to be used in a Wikipedia article (shown, not just linked), and I can't imagine it would be appropriate to show a scan of a press article in a Wikipedia article. Please just cite the sources in the draft and do not (re)upload them here or on Wikimedia Commons. If the source is not already available online from the publisher, then linking the source is not necessary. If a reviewer wants help accessing the sources for verification, they might ask you to share it with them by email or other means.
(You currently have made 8 edits on Wikipedia, not 10. But once you have made 10 edits, you still must not reupload those files here on Wikipedia for the reasons explained above.) – JensonSL (SilverLocust) 06:42, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
