If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

[edit]- Saint John—Rothesay → Saint John—Kennebecasis (currently a redirect back to Saint John—Rothesay) (move · discuss) – Name changed due to the calling of the 2025 Canadian federal election B3251(talk) 19:13, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- I'm curious whether this should really be a renaming, or a new article covering the new electoral area? In UK constituencies we generally never reuse an old constituency for a redrawn region, even if there's significant overlap. From what I can gather the old Saint John—Rothesay will be split between what is now Saint John—Kennebecasis and parts of Saint John—St. Croix (which was also recently renamed from New Brunswick South West). — Amakuru (talk) 10:17, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Horace François Bastien Sébastiani de La Porta → Horace Sébastiani (currently a redirect back to Horace François Bastien Sébastiani de La Porta) (move · discuss) – Unnecessarily complicated (please see equivalent page at wp:fr) Technopat (talk) 23:13, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Technopat I am not sure what you want to be done. The pages are correctly in their right places. with the latter redirecting correctly to the former. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:53, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Vanderwaalforces.
- The current title is Horace François Bastien Sébastiani de La Porta, which is way too long and completely unnecessary, as there is no possible confusion with any other Sébastiani, reason for which I tried to restore the simpler version of his name, Horace Sébastiani, by which he is know in the historiography (e.g. this search on Google Books.). Regards, Technopat (talk) 11:24, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

- Moldefjord → Moldefjorden (currently a redirect back to Moldefjord) (move · discuss) – use official name of the fjord (source: https://stadnamn.kartverket.no/fakta/497264) Jay1279 (talk) 00:15, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia does not use WP:OFFICIALNAMEs by default for titles. The present title appears to be the common name.[1] — Amakuru (talk) 10:27, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- I completed a similar request a few weeks ago, and noticed at List of Norwegian fjords that some end in "-en" but others don't, while sometimes "Fjord" is a separate word and sometimes not. It appears that a lot of redirects in all directions have taken place, such as Førdefjorden to Førde Fjord. I don't know Norwegian so I have no idea if these are all official names or if there is a problem with consistency of article titles. Either way, it seems like a bigger cleanup job than this one request. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 13:06, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- 1994 Swedish Football Division 3 → 1994 Swedish football Division 3 (currently a redirect back to 1994 Swedish Football Division 3) (move · discuss) – Per WP:LOWERCASE Sophisticatedevening (talk) 16:11, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Sophisticatedevening: Is this any different from the many other seasons after 1993 in Category:Division 3 (Swedish football) seasons? I see you closed a similar RM at Talk:1924–25 Swedish football Division 2#Requested move 1 March 2025, which also had discussion on the capitalization of "division", and not much discussion on the capitalization of "football". It might be worth doing another multimove request here. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 03:48, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- No they all needed to be moved to lowercase F, I was just trying to figure out how to make that request without clogging up this page. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 12:29, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Actually not all, just ~30% Sophisticatedevening (talk) 12:29, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

- Isabel Bennett (nurse) → Isabel Bennett (currently a redirect instead to Isobel Bennett) (move · discuss) – WP:CONCISE probably better for each Bennett to have real name title and About template at top to disambig. Zeromonk (talk) 09:20, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Just as a note, there's an additional Isabel Bennett in the mix, a senator from Belize. She has an article at the Low German Wikipedia, but not here. To make matters worse, she was also a nurse before becoming a politician, so it's arguable we need even more disambiguation than what we currently have... — Amakuru (talk) 10:28, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Unless and until the Belizean senator gets an article on en.wiki, no additional disambiguation is required. 162 etc. (talk) 16:22, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Requests to revert undiscussed moves

[edit]- Elif Elmas → Eljif Elmas (currently a redirect back to Elif Elmas) (move · discuss) – Revert undiscussed move from February 2024 Robby.is.on (talk) 14:41, 24 March 2025 (UTC) Robby.is.on (talk) 14:41, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Robby.is.on: This page has been moved eight times without a requested move discussion, and the initial page name used the spelling Elif. This should go through a full requested move. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 03:51, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

- Municipal police (Italy) → Polizia Locale (currently a redirect back to Municipal police (Italy)) (move · discuss) – local police forces in Italy are being reformed and will be all be referred as "Polizia Locale"; I have already made changes to the related articles accordingly Itemirus (talk) 11:31, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- Is "Polizia Locale" used in reliable English-language sources? See WP:UE. 162 etc. (talk) 15:35, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- Nickelodeon (Australian TV channel) → Nickelodeon (Australia) (currently a redirect instead to Nickelodeon (Australia and New Zealand)) (move · discuss) – Remove unnecessary disambiguator "TV channel" per the NCBC guideline relative to the parent "Nickelodeon" article name, citing Nickelodeon (Israel). Intrisit (talk) 18:37, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- This one doesn't work, since "Nickelodeon" can also refer to unrelated topics. See Nickelodeon (disambiguation). In fact, Nickelodeon (UK and Ireland), Nickelodeon (Middle East and North Africa), and Nickelodeon (Sub-Saharan Africa) should be reverted back to their stable titles. 162 etc. (talk) 01:39, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Intrisit: I urge you to self-revert the moves noted above. 162 etc. (talk) 15:40, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

- Napoli Piazza Amedeo station → Napoli Piazza Amedeo railway station (currently a redirect back to Napoli Piazza Amedeo station) (move · discuss) – According to the standards, it is a railway station –yeagvr · ✉ 19:02, 14 March 2025 (UTC) {{{sig}}}

- I was going to contest this, since the opposite move was performed two years ago Special:Diff/1165808254, but it looks like the person who did that move was none other than Yeagvr. Not sure how to handle this. Toadspike [Talk] 10:22, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Yeagvr Okay, I'm contesting this because the original move rationale (concise) makes sense. It is a railway station, but that doesn't have to be in the title. Toadspike [Talk] 10:24, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Usually the title is “railway station”. “Station” is used for subways… At least that’s what i see, I may be wrong. –yeagvr · ✉ 17:18, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose A request to revert your undiscussed move was already performed via myself. If an editor opposes an undiscussed move from the original title, then it can be reverted. At this point, you're going to have to start a discussion at the articles talk page and receive consensus to have the page moved per WP:RSPM. Jerium (talk) 20:34, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Consuela9890 This has been moved back and forth with no discussion on the talk page in a way that is close to a move war. A RM will have to be done to determine the consensus for the proposed name. cyberdog958Talk 22:13, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
