The San Diego Public Library will be hosting an edit-a-thon at the San Diego Central Library during National Volunteer Month. All are encouraged to attend, however seating is limited. This will be the 110th Wikipedia meetup in San Diego County.

Event Details
Celebrate National Volunteer Month by learning to contribute to one of the world's most successful volunteer-driven projects: Wikipedia. With millions of articles, thousands of editors, and decades of research, it has become a trusted resource for getting first-look information in dozens of different disciplines.
Learn to edit Wikipedia pages and contribute to making knowledge more accessible! Join us in editing and writing Wikipedia articles. All experience levels are welcome. It is highly recommended that participants create a Wikipedia account ahead of time.
Teens and older students: Teenagers and other students seeking community service hours for school requirements or other student-organization requirements will receive 2 hours for participating. At this time, we cannot offer hours for judicial or other court-ordered community service requirements. The signing group will be the San Diego Wikimedians User Group.
The San Diego Wikimedians User Group, an affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation, will be giving a short tutorial on getting started with Wikipedia. Afterwards, we will begin editing! Computers will be available. Attendees may bring their own WiFi-enabled devices if they so desire, though in-room outlet space may be limited.— Pauline Bronstein

Getting there
[edit]San Diego Central library is located in East Village, San Diego, and west of Interstate 5. It is encouraged that attendees plan in advance as parking underneath the library is not guaranteed. It is also northeast of the 12th & Imperial Transit Center, making it accessible to multiple San Diego Metropolitan Transit System options.
