English Wikipedia's image guidelines for living people stipulate that we can only use freely-licensed images of living people in articles, and our image use policy says that we can only use copyrighted images if no free alternative exists. This often means that editors themselves must take photographs of notable subjects, or that historical subjects have more unusual historical images rather than professional photos. Because of this, we occasionally end up with some peculiar and atypical biographical photos. They may be low in visual quality, taken from a far, a non-facial angle or show their subject in a unique situation ...sometimes a very unique situation. Here are some of the finest!
All of these photos are either in use or were previously in use on English Wikipedia. Featuring an image on this page should not be seen as a way of suggesting an image holds little worth on Wikipedia, this is a humourous page and celebrates the dedication shown by editors to provide images for a biography. Feel free to add more.
