- Support as nominator – ArionStar (talk) 22:07, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'm going to go with "too soon". Could be seen as support. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 8.9% of all FPs. 00:12, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- Too soon? Maybe. But it is still a historical moment in the American political/economic timeline. EV. ArionStar (talk) 00:53, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- This is an interesting choice. I try to collect arguments for both sides.
Pro (regarding notability):
- The announcement has a huge impact on economy and diplomacy with other countries
- The measures are very likely harmful for the US and the trading partners
- We have hilarious consequences (Tariffs for by penguins inhabitated countries)
- The table is now well-known and has meme potential (showing probably wrong calculations and claims that the "European Union" is a country. Russia etc. are missing
- Talks about eggs (polarizing topic) and NASDAQ (which is crashing after the announcement)
Contra:
- Trump made and will make many controversial announcements very often (so other videos could claim this status as well)
- Is the video and the content as such notable, or the measures themselves?
- Consequences are not completely known yet (what historical is and what not can be determined after the event is finished)
- The video contains much Trump praising
Further remarks
- Calling it freedom day when potentially achieving the opposite is weird (but fits into the Trump claim patterns)

- Even without knowing the consequences or whether the impact will be positive or negative, one thing is certain, it will have a tremendous impact and mark a historic moment Wilfredor (talk) 11:03, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not against promoting this later. It's just too soon. Once it's history, then we can promote it neutrally. Days after it happened, with it likely mainpaging around the midterms, just feels way too like an endorsement. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 8.9% of all FPs. 12:08, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose The EV of a long and rambling speech seems modest for an encyclopaedia, as few readers will watch the speech: this kind of thing is great for Wiki Source or perhaps Commons, but an encyclopaedia is meant to provide a summary or introduction to the topic. - Oppose – NPOV. Politically polemical and not worth the pixels. – Sca (talk) 16:37, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose for now per Sca, we can come back to it in 2029. --EUPBR (talk) 20:41, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'll renominate it in 2029. ArionStar (talk) 23:42, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
