Function details:

Changes dates that are dmy to mdy when {{Use mdy dates}} is present in an article (or vice versa)
Replaces the |df=y parameter (in various templates) with |mf=y when {{Use mdy dates}} is present in an article (or vice versa)
Skips new articles (<30 days old) and articles where the template has been on the page for <5 revisions even because more time for consensus to form is needed (in general)

Discussion

Needs wider discussion. This seems pretty close to WP:CONTEXTBOT, considering that dates in quotes and titles shouldn't be changed. I see you have some broken code to try to avoid changing dates inside templates, wikilinks, and references, which is a good start, but even if you get it working I don't know if it would be sufficient. You should probably get consensus at WP:Village pump (proposals) that the community finds the risks work it. Anomie ⚔ 22:34, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
