Discussion
[edit] Needs wider discussion. This seems pretty close to WP:CONTEXTBOT, considering that dates in quotes and titles shouldn't be changed. I see you have some broken code to try to avoid changing dates inside templates, wikilinks, and references, which is a good start, but even if you get it working I don't know if it would be sufficient. You should probably get consensus at WP:Village pump (proposals) that the community finds the risks work it. Anomie⚔ 22:34, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- I've started a discussion here, and have also made the bot supervised instead of automatic. – PharyngealImplosive7 (talk) 23:47, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Putting this rm on hold tag until consensus for such a bot is created. – PharyngealImplosive7 (talk) 21:33, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Withdrawn by operator. The community clearly against such a bot, as can be seen in the RfC. Therefore, I withdraw this BRFA. – PharyngealImplosive7 (talk) 03:03, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

- Note: some templates like {{Start date}} do not need
|mf=
as that is the default. So if|df=
is removed, nothing else should be done. --Gonnym (talk) 17:43, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply] - The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. To request review of this BRFA, please start a new section at Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard.
