Wakkanai Centennial Memorial is an observation tower and exhibition facility located within Wakkanai Park in Wakkanai, Hokkaido, Japan.[1] It was constructed in 1978 to commemorate the city’s 100th anniversary.[2] The memorial comprises the Wakkanai Centennial Memorial Tower, an 80-meter observation tower, and the Northern Memorial Hall, which contains exhibits on the history of Wakkanai, the Karafuto (Sakhalin) region, and Japan’s northern frontier.[3]
