Unused NJCAA independents football records templates

[edit]

Hey, the following templates that you created are unused:

could you please add them to articles? Templates that aren't used are eventually sent to TfD and deleted. Gonnym (talk) 12:13, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New coach bios

[edit]

Thetreesarespeakingtome, glad to see you are back editing after a little break. When you create new coach bio articles, it would be helpful if could do a couple things. First, sourcing for high school coaching record tables would be good. I generally have no idea where you getting these records from. Second, it would be great if you talk page with project banners for the article. See my edit at Talk:Matt Nardo. You can generally default the class to Stub unless it has substantial body in prose, it which case Start class is probably best. I think a typical sub-Division I head coach can be rated as low importance for WikiProject College football. Thanks, Jweiss11 (talk) 19:49, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for getting back to work on this today and adding content on the 1922 season. Once you have at least basic content on each of the years, I have no objection to its being moved back to main space. Cbl62 (talk) 15:31, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cbl62, by draftifying this article, which I created as a refactored breakout/cleanup of a low-quality creation by Iamsogoodatchess1469, you initiated deletion of set of ten accompanying standard redirects with tagged talk pages. These will all have to be re-created at some point, which is a tedious waste of time. Please do note draftyify any article that I have created or substantially improved without notifying me and giving me ample chance, at least a week, say, to address any concerns. You've created literally hundreds of low-development college football team season articles with poorly formatted scheduled tables over the last few years, and instead of draftifying them and creating unneeded administrative churn for you and other editors, I simply cleaned them up for you and the rest of the community. Please extend me the same courtesy. Thanks, Jweiss11 (talk) 15:49, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Impressive! Cbl62 (talk) 21:40, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • One suggestion: We have no fixed rule on this, but I'd suggest breaking it up by decade, and tacking 2009 onto the 2010s decade article. E.g., Anna Maria Amcats football, 2009–2019 and then having a separate article for the 2020s: Anna Maria Amcats football, 2020–2025. Not sure if we have a guideline on the naming of current decades, and the foregoing will require adjusting the title as each new season (2026, 2027, 2028, 2029) is added. Cbl62 (talk) 21:46, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I just did it in a fifteen year chunk so the god-awful beginning of the school's existence adds context to its success in the 2020s as I don't think a 2009 to 2019 article where a D3 team won a total of twelve games in eleven years would be considered notable. In the future the article may be broken up to fit a standard year "block." The fifteen years also fits nicely alongside the tenures of every head coach (but that's a personal thing). Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 21:54, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "BrandingStrategist". The reason given for BrandingStrategist's block is: "Spam / advertising-only account". Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 01:36, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason: I'm going to block this account directly as a sock puppet. 331dot (talk) 09:26, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I reckon this is the second or third time my brother has gotten the IP banned smh. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 01:37, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
331dot and Bbb23: can explain you the rationale for an indefinite block here? Thetreesarespeakingtome is a highly productive and very skilled editor whose contribution to Wikipedia, particularly in the topic area of college football, has been invaluable over the last couple years or so. I think a very modest assumption of good faith suggests that believe we he is telling the truth about another family member in his household causing the disturbance. Is it possible to block the IP address in question except for Thetreesarespeakingtome's account? Jweiss11 (talk) 15:22, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Even the edits I had made while logged out have been constructive [1]. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 15:51, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I unblocked this account, but their brother will need to get unblocked. Actions have consequences, and not just for the user blocked directly. 331dot (talk) 16:53, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Judging by this I am assuming I will just need to wait out the autoblock. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 16:57, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Thetreesarespeakingtome (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I understand the block was due to multiple accounts on the same IP and I wanted to explain that the edits in question were not me. They were from a separate account my brother was using from the same connection. I know shared IP issues can be tricky and I totally get why you need to keep Wikipedia safe from sockpuppetry and disruptive editing. I've always tried to contribute positively and in good faith. I’ve made nearly 25,000 edits and in the past week I’ve created several new quality articles (including working on one when the ban came into affect) I put a lot of work into. This project means a lot to me. I'll take full responsibility for making sure this doesn't happen again and will do whatever it takes to prevent future confusion. If it helps I can provide proof the activity was from a different person/account. I just really hope I can get back to editing. Thanks, Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 11:55, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and remove this, but your brother will need to get unblocked to free your IP from the autoblock. 331dot (talk) 16:48, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am also confused as to what I am being accused of being a sockpuppet to. Am I the sockpuppet to an account created less than 24 hours ago? Or is it that the new account is a sockpuppet of mine? I am just trying to understand this whole thing. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 14:10, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
According to the edit summary of my initial block is appears that this account is to believed to have been created as a sockpuppet despite being three years older and with a history of constructive edits and article creations. Just feels like someone jumped the gun on the blocking without looking into me and my account first. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 14:12, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I should have blocked this as the master account instead of the puppet; I looked into this. See WP:BROTHER, but if another admin is satisfied you are a different person, they may unblock you without asking me. Your brother may want to ask to be unblocked as well. 331dot (talk) 14:45, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@331dot, I do see the flimsiness of the argument, but since I cannot see the pages that were created I can't tell you the name of who he is, but my email can prove my identity being different from that of the other accounts (if that is believable, that is) since this has happened before with one Roblox army commander (or whatever he has referred himself as this time). If anything, I know there's are ways to block the IP while granting a one-year "break" from the block for a specific account, as I do not see it wise to allow him to continue to create and disrupt the flow of Wikipedia. But I guess it's a waiting game at this point. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 14:56, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
WP:BROTHER is about two different people using the same account. That has not happened here. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 15:47, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's more generally about it being an excuse. 331dot (talk) 16:49, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
