Afriwork moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Afriwork. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. CherryPie94 🍒🥧 (talk) 09:45, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TheWikiCraft. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TheWikiCraft. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TheWikiCraft|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 07:48, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback and for the conversation. I just want to clarify that I am not receiving any payments or compensation for editing this article. This is actually my first article, and I've been making edits based on reviewers' feedback, which has really helped me improve how I write. I'm doing my best to follow guidelines and contribute constructively, and I definitely welcome more guidance. TheWikiCraft (talk) 08:10, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your username sounds like it is that of a company.
How did you come to edit about Afriwork? 331dot (talk) 08:15, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I can understand how my username might seem like it belongs to a company, but I am being honest, I actually just used GPT to generate a list of good usernames back then when I was creating my profile, and I picked one from there. As for how I came to edit about Afriwork, this is my first article on Wikipedia. I was looking for companies that seemed notable but didn’t yet have a page, and I came across Afriwork and others. I thought it would be a good opportunity to draft something and improve my article-writing skills while getting feedback from experienced editors. TheWikiCraft (talk) 08:26, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Regarding your draft, you're a long way from it being accepted. It just summarizes the routine activities and offerings of the company, which does not establish that the company is a notable company as Wikipedia defines one. That requires significant coverage in independent reliable sources, coverage that goes beyond describing what the company does and goes into detail about what the source sees as important/significant/influential about the company, not what the company might see as important about itself. None of the sources you have meet that standard. 331dot (talk) 08:42, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback, 331dot. I see now that the draft doesn't meet the notability criteria. I’ll review and look for better sources. Appreciate your time. TheWikiCraft (talk) 08:54, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you do that, you will essentially need to rewrite your draft, limiting yourself to summarizing those sources with significant coverage(see WP:BACKWARD). You don't need to create a brand new draft, you may completely rewrite the existing one(though the prior reviews must remain). 331dot (talk) 08:58, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see. May I ask if everything else is good except the sources used. TheWikiCraft (talk) 14:55, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps you misunderstand me, changing the sources will not solve the problem, you need to change the content, essentially starting fresh(this can be done on the existing draft). Keep in mind that the vast majority of companies do not merit Wikipedia articles. 331dot (talk) 18:03, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, I understood you. What I meant to ask was if the tone (promotional or not), grammar and etc. are good. TheWikiCraft (talk) 20:59, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Whioe it's largely academic for me to say so, the tone is not bad. I don't see any grammatical errors. 331dot (talk) 21:40, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thanks again for your feedback, it's very important to me. TheWikiCraft (talk) 09:52, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
