Disambiguation link notification for December 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of heads of state and government Nobel laureates, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Christian Lange. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

List of prime ministers of Bangladesh
[edit] Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically List of prime ministers of Bangladesh, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:51, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Tausheef Hassan. Just going to explain why I removed the non-free images you added to List of prime ministers of Bangladesh and the corresponding non-free use rationales you added to each file's page. Wikipedia's non-free content use policy is quite restrictive and there are ten criteria that each use of a non-free file needs to meet for it to be considered a valid use. If even WP:JUSTONE of these criteria isn't satisfied, then the use is considered to not be policy compliant. Non-images are pretty much never allowed to be used to illustrate individual entries in stand-alone lists articles or in list-like, table-like or gallery-like sections of other articles because such uses are considered for the most part to be WP:DECORATIVE and not allowed per WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#8, WP:NFLISTS and WP:NFTABLES. This has pretty much how relevant Wikipedia policy has been consistently applied to such non-free use over the years; so, I've removed the images from the article. If you disagree with this assessment and would like some other opinions, you can ask either at WP:MCQ or WT:NFCC, or you can start a discussion about things at WP:FFD. I think you're going to have a very hard (perhaps impossible) time of convincing others that this type of non-free use meets relevant Wikipedia policy, but you can of course ask if you want. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:00, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your clarification. I initially misunderstood this section Non-free image use in list articles and assumed that the use of non-free images in the list was permitted if done cautiously. Tausheef Hassan (talk) 09:38, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Replaceable non-free use File:Mashiur Rahman (politician, born 1924).jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Mashiur Rahman (politician, born 1924).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:14, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit] Hello Tausheef Hassan! Your additions to List of international trips made by António Guterres as Secretary-General of the United Nations have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:31, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Flag of Anti-Corruption Commission (Bangladesh).svg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Flag of Anti-Corruption Commission (Bangladesh).svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 10:50, 6 June 2025 (UTC)

Request for edit assistance: Bengal Subah article
[edit]Hi @Tausheef Hassan,
I noticed that you added the Bengal subah flag to the List of Bangladeshi flags. Unfortunately, I’m currently under a restriction that prevents me from editing English Wikipedia directly. The Bengal Subah article does not have that flag. Would you be willing to kindly make the following edit to the infobox of the article? The infobox has two parameters; flag 1 and flag 2.
Please add these two historically accurate and sourced flags:
| flag = [[File:Bengal_subah_flag.svg|border|150px]] | flag2 = [[File:Nawabs_of_Bengal_flag.svg|border|150px]]
They are properly sourced and were uploaded here:
A previously added unsourced flag was recently removed, but these versions are historically accurate and referenced.
Thank you so much for your time and assistance! Greatswrd (talk) 13:21, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

- @Greatswrd Hy man, saw your flags on Bengal Sultanate. Out of curiosity how do you research on those topics and how confidence are you with these old books. would love to connect with you on social media Tausheef Hassan (talk) 14:38, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Tausheef Hassan, when it comes to flags I try to get a primary source that aligns with a reliable secondary source or just a reliable secondary source by itself is generally enough.
- Regarding the Bengal Sultanate flags I vectorised, I would like to say that the flag that is based off of the kingdom of Armalec from the Book of knowledge of all kingdoms is very likely to not be real. The actual manuscript is written by an anonymous author and there are many discrepancies. The only supporting evidence I found was that the contemporary Delhi Sultanate shared a similar design with the vertical stripe. Other than that I could not find any evidence whatsoever.
- Moreover personally I 100% believe that the flag of the Bengal Sultanate that is in the Catalan Atlas is the real flag. Although I couldn't find supporting secondary sources, there are many primary sources that support the identification with the Bengal Sultanate. Sadly just having primary sources is not always enough and a reliable secondary source is required.
