Congratulations on you imminent promotion to sysop status Srikeit. You are truly an unsung hero of the project and it was a privilege to nominate you. As with the my other noms, the RfA statistics do not convey the magnitude of your contribution. All the best, Blnguyen | rant-line04:23, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
A nice protein structure for teh organic chemistry fanatic! All for you for your RfA success!
Congratulations!! You will make a fabulous admin until you turn rouge! Good luck and happy meddling with those tools! - Tangotango07:08, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
I figured you had enough treats, but I brought some mithai anyway since that seems to be a theme here. :) Congratulations. - TaxmanTalk11:35, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Well darn it, I'm going to say "congrats" too. I'm so glad you had such strong support too. Its high time you were given the old mop and broom. Well done. Gwernol14:09, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Administrator
I just arrived at that summer institute yesterday and haven't had much of a chance to drop by. So here's a late but huge congratulations to Srikeit, our new admin! :) Cheers, Sango12312:24, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Congratulations! I'm so sorry I wasn't here to support you when you ran (I was on wikibreak); it would have definitely been a support vote from me. —Mets501 (talk)13:04, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Hello, congratulations. I came a day late - yesterday, I could not come and misssed the party. You got so many supports! All the best! --Bhadani14:28, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi. You recently shortened the block on 80.249.49.8, one of the IPs I edit from behind when I'm at work. Thanks. A very large number of schoolkids edit from behind that IP, though, so if it's not blocked then there's loads of vandalism. Now that soft blocking is an option, I suggest that you change the block to an infinite duration soft block. Thanks. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 14:46, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Well its probably because I'm a n00b admin, but I really don't understand what you mean by soft-blocking. I shortened the block duration as it was a shared IP and there has been an instance of collateral damage occurring. IP's are never indef-blocked unless they're established to be open-proxies. Any further vandalism from this IP will be dealt with appropriate blocks. Thanks --Srikeit(Talk | Email)06:46, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I moved your reply here to keep the conversation together. Soft blocking's only been available for about ten days - sorry, I should have given you more details. As a result of Tim Starling's recent work on MediaWikiBug 550, it's now possible to soft block IP addresses, so that anonymous users can't edit, but logged-in users can. In situations like this, that's exactly how it needs to be - this IP is the home to thousands upon thousands of schoolkids, so there's loads of vandalism when it's not blocked. On the other hand, there are plenty of good users editing through it too, both adults and kids. I'm not an admin, so I can't check, but I think if you go to block an IP address now it gives you a bunch of fairly self explanatory options. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 09:54, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for contributing the impressive the pile of supports gathered on my RfA, which passed with a final tally of 0x0104/0x01/0x00. I'm happy that so many people have put faith in my abilities as an admin and promise to use the tools wisely and do my best not to let you down. If I ever may be of assistance, just leave a note on my talk page. Misza13, the rouge-on-demand admin wishes you happy editing!

Protection Request
Hi, I was wondering whether you could protect this page - User:Daniel.Bryant/GraalOnline - because the mediation submissions are finished, and now I (the mediator) will go off and deliberate. In this time, I want to minimize a war of words. Killfest2(Talk)11:04, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Excuse me...
Pardon me, I am not a "Wikipedian," but your people seem to be treating me like one. In a bad way. You Wikipedians keep sending warnings to 220.240.241.185, which is apparently me, even though I have no idea waht it means. Anyway, I, an innocent member of the public, am constantly blocked from contributing to Wikipedia, and I'm trying to find help to once again contribute by being unblocked. Could you, Srikeit, send my message to some higher-up and tell him to stop blocking 220.240.241.185. I would much appreciate it.
As I'm not a "Wikipedian" you will not be able to contact me as such, but send any reply to simon@leonsec.vic.edu.au if you help me.
Hi, when relisting afd discussions, please comment out the discussion on the older afd page (by adding <!-- before and --> after the line, such as here). Thanks. - Bobet11:04, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Ah, finally its protected. Too bad you didn't show up a minute later than you did, since he was on 3 reverts already:(. But thanks anyway, as this will force people to move on to the talk page. Better earlier than never:)--Kilhan05:46, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
3RR
Hello, may i ask why there is no result for my report of 3RR on Cyrus II article by User:SG? If there is something i left out in the report please let me know. Thank you --Spahbod☼17:54, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Re: Userpage sprotection
Hey, thanks for the quick semi-protection, Srikeit! I'm currently functioning on only four hours of sleep, but otherwise I'm quite well. :) How've you been? Regards, Sango12323:38, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Don't worry. Everyone makes mistakes here. The good thing about wikipedia is that all mistakes are revertable (except for the block log :)) - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 14:46, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Hey, Srikeit/archive 7, thanks for supporting my RfA, with a tally of 104/4/7...

FAC
Hopefully you should see FAC today or within 2-3 days. Waiting for approval from Ambuj. You can just quickly read through the entire article and check for any errors. Both Nirav and I have are very familiar with the article and may not be able to spot some errors. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 06:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't think more photos are required. Though you can click a photo of the new flyover at Shreyas. Maybe we can add that to signify recent improvements in infrastructure. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 06:51, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Are you using some automated tool for spell check? Does it have options to choose between American and British english? Some of the spellings that you have corrected are actually correct in British english. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 08:01, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
I have already reinstated the old spellings in some cases. Still, you can check if there are any more spellings left to be converted to British spellings. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 08:10, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Your photos
Hello Srikeit. As usual, your photos of Ahmedabad really brighten up the day. I am thinking of which photo to use. I really like the first one a lot. There is one thing I wanted to tell you a long time back. Why don't you upload your images on commons? That would make these images available to all wikis. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 13:41, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Thankyou for your participation in my RfA. Due to an almost even spread of votes between Oppose and Support (Final (16/13/6)) I have decided to withdraw for now and re-apply in a couple of months as suggested. I thank everyone for their kind support of my editorial skills; it meant a lot to me to get such strong recommendations from my fellow editors. If you ever have any hints as to how I can improve further, I would love to hear from you. ViridaeTalk15:24, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Tabriz rug
Hi,
You have locked the Tabriz rug for further editing. But, there is one serious issue. The web page in its current format is pro-Iranian and most of the information lacks evidences. I would appreciate if you could include on the top of the page that this web page is disputed.
Can you please also assign to this web page one moderator or facilitator. Because I don't think that without the 3rd party involvement we can solve many of my disagreement with persian nationalists.
Thanks,
Ramil
Another star
The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For bopping vandals on the head without rest with your almost-one-month-old tools, I award Srikeit this anti-vandalism barnstar! --james(talk)11:40, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Dear Srikeit, thank you so much for your beautiful words, your kidness and your trust in me. My Request for Adminship is finally over, and the support and appreciation that the community has gifted me will stick in my mind as long as I live. I have no way to properly express how grateful I am to you for all you've done for me, and all I can tell you is, I'll try not to disappoint you nor anyone else with my use of the buttons... and if I mess up, make sure to come here and give me a good yell! :) Seriously, tho, if you ever need my help, either for admin-related stuff or in any other way, you'll always be welcome to message me, and I promise I'll try my very best.
Despite I've never had the pleasure of talking to you until now, dear Srikeit, know that your name is one I am familiar with, and I know you're a great editor and an awesome person. From this day on, I also consider you my friend, and I'd be happy and honored if you consider me as your own. With a big hug, your friend,
I need a help from you. User AED has listed an article (biography) about me for deletion. Following that there has been comments like "non-notable" "exam-cram" "limited shelf life". How am I to oppose it. If it is an article, we can remove that citing lack of sources. I was pushed into editing the article only for the past 2 days after that. Initially the reason given for delete was Not-notable. When I gave enough proof that I have written 6 medical text books [3] they have changed the accusation into Vanity. And one user have voted three times for it to be deleted. Another doctor from Delhi (may be some one who knows me in real world and does not like me) has gone to the extent of telling that no one knows about me
I understand that I should not write an article about me. You should note that the article was not written by me. Hence I am not able to comprehend the Vanity Issue. My problem is not with deleting or keeping it. It is regarding to the mud sligning that has been happening in the AFD Debate of various individuals (as well as corporates / Organisations etc) after nominating the article for debate in the recent past and unfortunately I am a victim now. If it is an article, we can remove that citing lack of sources. But the baseless insulting comments made here will stay.Doctor Bruno13:57, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
I guess you have misunderstood me. This article was not written my me. ANy how, I feel that WP:BIO says about Published authors, editors and photographers who received multiple independent reviews of or awards for their work. Can you be more clear as to why I don't fit into that criteria. I am asking the question not only for me, but for similar situations. Doctor Bruno07:20, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Regarding the counter points
The article was not written by me. When this controversy erupted, I read the guidelines regarding autobiography and has followed what is given in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AUTO#If_Wikipedia_already_has_an_article_about_you Even without going through the debate, when users accuse of vanity (as if I have created the article) it hurts a lot
WP:BIO clearly says that you can have articles on published authors. There is no talk about Junior/Senior, Undergraduation/Post Graduation, Fiction/Nonfiction etc.
My main concern is that all these points come out only after I put a counter question. They are not the real facts, but are made up as the users ego prevent them from stepping back. In order to substantiate the hasty vote, they invent new guideline.

Hi there,
Thanks for hiding the revision on my talk page. I don't really mind if its hidden instead of deleted, as long as the general public can't see it; I trust sysops. Thanks again. --Draicone(talk)06:40, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Azerbaijani rug
Azerbaijani rug has been protected for than a week. No discussion has happened, but I think it's time for it to be unportected, as it can't be protected forever. -- Jeff300013:31, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Dr. Bruno
Hey there -- I noticed you removed my comments from the WIkipedia page on Dr. Bruno. Removal of someone's personal views from a deletion page seems a little harsh (especially since therew was nothing inflamatory about what I was saying). Might I ask why they were taken out, please? 193.129.65.3704:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
My heartiest apologies. Actually I was editing from my cell-phone & must have accidentally removed some text. Sorry for the inconvenience & regards --Srikeit(Talk | Email)04:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response. By the way, do you have any idea about why I get information that I am editing from 64.233.xxx.xx which is supposed to be a google IP.
Thanks so much for your support vote on my request for adminship! With a final vote count of (82/5/0), it succeeded, and I'm now an administrator! I am thrilled with the overwhelming positive support from the community, and sincerely thank you once again for taking your time to voice your opinion. Feel free to contact me with any comments/suggestions in the future! —Mets501 (talk)03:52, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.
