Request reason:

I am an experienced user in good standing. Please unblock my IP address. Prcc27 (talk) 21:15, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

The only block I see that might have affected you is only on a handful of talk pages, and you seem to have switched IPs to get around the one page among those you've ever edited, so I don't see any reason to modify that block. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 22:26, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

A request

[edit]

Greetings Prcc27, in the most respectful and friendly way possible, I really don't appreciate this comment. If you take a look at my talk page you might notice that I've already been accused of sockpuppetry and have had my account perused by multiple checkusers at this point. I'm interested in many topics aside from American politics, and I kindly request that you don't assume bad faith on my part as I slowly get into what will hopefully be a long history of editing the encyclopedia. If you're feeling extra generous I'd appreciate you striking or even removing that comment but that's up to you. Thanks - Big Thumpus (talk) 22:06, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Big Thumpus: It wasn’t an accusation towards you per se, just pointing out that due to sockpuppets in the past, we should be vigilant with single purpose accounts. Single purpose accounts especially need to be aware that Wikipedia is not a place for advocacy or to right wrongs. Prcc27 (talk) 04:21, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

2024 United Sates presidential election

[edit]

Please stop editing on 2024 United States presidential election and related pages. You have stated that you have a COI as you are an elected official. Since you have that type of COI you should not edit political articles and topics including elections. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#political User Page Talk Contributions Sheriff U3 06:07, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Sheriff U3: I have never claimed to be an “elected official”. A political party leadership role hardly makes me more likely to have a COI than someone merely registered with a political party. And I know for a fact many users (maybe even yourself) are affiliated with a political party. I read WP:COIPOLITICAL and literally none of it applies to me. I am not a political candidate, I am not a governmental official, and I have never been involved in a presidential candidate’s campaign. Prcc27 (talk) 06:21, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Prcc27 You have stated that you are taking office, correct? User Page Talk Contributions Sheriff U3 06:53, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Sheriff U3: Let’s say “governmental official” or “political candidate” applied to me. I would be discouraged from editing articles about myself; my supporters, agencies, government, political party, political opponents, or controversial political topics. I guess I am/would be barred from editing about the Democratic Party (and maybe I should avoid the GOP article as well?), my local government, my local political supporters and opponents, controversial political topics (whatever that means), and myself (if I’m ever lucky enough to have a Wikipedia article written about me). I fail to see how articles about the U.S. presidential election would be a conflict of interest for someone engaged in local politics. Also, people with a COI are allowed to use the talk page of an article they have a COI with AFAIK. Prcc27 (talk) 16:35, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks for explaining that. User Page Talk Contributions Sheriff U3 17:55, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
