SCOTUS redirects
[edit]There's nothing to be done about it now because it is a bare improvement, but I did want to express that creating all those redirects for SCOTUS articles significantly interfered with my project of creating articles for them. Now, I cannot tell which articles have actually had any attention on them, and they will not be in the new page feed for review. As someone who has an "I created 300 articles for Wikipedia" note on your page, I think you'll understand that that sucks. I am not saying this was foreseeable for you. I am saying it sucks and moving on with the project. lethargilistic (talk) 16:59, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi lethargilistic, thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. I'm really sorry to hear that my redirects interfered with your workflow, especially when you've clearly put so much effort into creating new SCOTUS articles and I see your project as so important to the future of Wikipedia. Given that my goal was to have people searching on Wikipedia have an easier time finding information about the context of individual cases, I certainly had not anticipated the impact that it would have on the new page feed or article-tracking for someone like you working to develop these cases into pages. I certainly imagine that would be very frustrating, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that has caused.
- My motivation behind my redirect project, which took a surprising amount of time and detail for the pages that I had done it with so far, was essentially to make sure that no SCOTUS cases weren't reflected for people searching the site; your project is an even better and more helpful version of this. I had created redirects within Volumes 1-32, and from 311-604; all of the cases in between those have not been touched by me and likely remain as they originally were. I'd be happy to help with your project and any unintended effects of the redirects if there's a way that I can. Whether that's flagging pages, helping track articles that went from red-links to redirects, or just coordinating with you if I engage with SCOTUS articles in the future, don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks again for taking the time to let me know. PickleG13 (talk) 20:44, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Help with Lindy Li
[edit]Sig is making wide-sweeping changes to Lindy Li's biography that go against the consensus reached on the talk page. Can you please intervene? He is basically doing a top-down defamatory rewrite of her entire life. His changes are NOT what were agreed upon. Thanks so much. 108.52.125.53 (talk) 22:04, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
Redirect listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]
A redirect or redirects you have created has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Anyone, including you, is welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 June 20 § 9,568 recently-created redirects from SCOTUS cases until a consensus is reached. -- 'zin[is short for Tamzin] 09:36, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know, 'zin[is short for Tamzin] and for acknowledging that my edits were in good faith. My attempt was to be bold and embark upon a project that seemed to be making it easier for people to search for old cases, just as I had benefitted from when someone did that relating to a draft page that I had worked on. As the creator of these redirects, I would be lying if I said that I wasn't saddened by how this would affect my edit history and Deleted edits count, but that is obviously not my reason for having made the edits and I'll understand whatever consensus we come to. Today, I visited the page and found that you are in the top of the list with over 9،000 articles! I initially thought that you have created so many pages and you aren't autopatrolled yet. But looking at the stats I can conclude that most of the pages that are highlighted as mainspace articles are actually redirects nominated at RfD (that's a high number!). Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Unfortunately though your redirects' fate would be mass-deletion as far as it goes. Probably the same with the list of users with the most articles created (haven't checked that though) but thanks again for your contributions. ToadetteEdit (talk) 05:15, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi ToadetteEdit! Thanks for reaching out. On the list of users with the most articles created, I believe I'm in the top few thousand editors, since I have a large number of active articles unrelated to redirects. The RfD nomination came as a shock to me, although I didn't do it to get my numbers up, but instead to contribute to Wikipedia to the best of my ability. What can I do to get to autopatrol privileges? I would love to continue to expand into the community and contribute, and continue to get better after ten years on Wikipedia. PickleG13 (talk) 05:25, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
- That is a tricky question. The standard for autopatrolled is 25 clean articles. But your recent article creations should comply with the policies, e.g., WP:V, WP:NPOV, WP:Copyrights etc, and guidelines e.g. WP:N and others. It should rather preferably be the type of article as described at Wp:The perfect article. Although WP:GAs are better. That said, if a patroller finds you creating clean articles consistently, they can nominate you for autopatrol at WP:PERM/A. You can also request yourself, although IMO, this is a bit discouraged unless you have created hundreds of pages. ToadetteEdit (talk) 05:40, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the advice, ToadetteEdit. I have been credited by Wikipedia with more than 300 articles, but I only believe that I really deserve credit for 109 of those. (This excludes all redirects, and all of these are listed on my page.) Appreciate your help, hope I'll meet the cut someday, and I would love to help you out with any of your own projects in any way that I can! PickleG13 (talk) 05:44, 21 June 2025 (UTC)

Script recommendation
[edit]I have worked on adding categories to your redirects. Some I have not touched as maybe you know more about the subject matter and how to categorize them. I recommend this script to assist you: User:Eejit43/scripts/redirect-helper. Best wishes! Red Director (talk) 22:42, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
Women in Red
[edit]Hi there, PickleG13, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to have such an experienced editor as a member of our project. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 15:11, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, Ipigott! I'm looking forward to helping the project. I've experienced problems in the past with creating pages for both living and deceased women on Wikipedia, even ones where notability seems entirely clear, so I will certainly reach out if I need any help.
