- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Radiocarbon articles
[edit]Hi -- glad to see your edits; it's great to have people with real expertise improving the radiocarbon articles. The radiocarbon calibration article was split from the main radiocarbon dating article when that started to get a bit too long, and it never really got cleaned up to be a decent standalone article in its own right. Anything you can do to improve it, or radiocarbon dating considerations, which also was split from the main article because of length, would be much appreciated. If you have any questions about Wikipedia or if I can do anything to help, please let me know, either here or on my talk page. Thanks. - Thanks Mike! I'll see what I can do. I have also recently submitted an article on 'IntCal' (prematurely perhaps as I hadn't learned how to insert references properly) but that may be better within the radiocarbon calibration article. PaulaReimer (talk) 14:48, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- That would be in your sandbox, here, right? I'm not very familiar with that submission process, but I'll see if I can find it and shortcut the process for you -- there's no question that IntCal deserves an article, and I've been editing long enough that I can just create it. Might be a couple of days till I have time do that. New editors aren't allowed to create new articles till they've been here for a while as otherwise we get teenagers creating articles about rock bands they just formed with their friends. Anyway, nice to meet you; I'll get back to you when I've figured out how to find that submission. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 15:14, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- If you have no objections, I can move the draft article into the main Wikipedia space, but I do have a couple of questions that we might as well resolve first. I'll post some notes at the draft's talk page, here. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 00:29, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks Mike
- I'm working on your suggestions and will let you know when I'm finished.

- OK, will watch that page and will try to answer any questions you might leave there. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 16:41, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
