Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wusa9logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wusa9logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:11, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Don't threaten me
[edit]Noahcs, don't threaten me. Who do you think you are? Go ahead and report me. I will use the image in my workshop where I will continue to work on the developement of the article in question. For your information there is a rationale for the images use already on the image page: Image:WW2 Iwo Jima flag raising.jpg. If you wanted, you could have conducted a conversation in my talk page in a civil manner, but you choose to threaten me with a report instead. Then go for it. Orphaned non-free image (File:Pooh Skies.jpg)
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Pooh Skies.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 20:37, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:CIA Memo.JPG
[edit]File:CIA Memo.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:CIA Memo.JPG. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:CIA Memo.JPG]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 16:26, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello Noahcs, it's been a while huh? You might remember adding your interest to work as part of the Cartoon Network Wikiproject here, since you did this there has been very little activity with few to none of the members participating or have been idle for some time and as such may be mothballing the Wikiproject as inactive. I'm going over the list for WP:TOON and need to know if you wish to still be a member. I know you mightn't have edited in some time (at least through this account) but I'll wait until 5th January 2010 to see whether or not you still wish to be a part of this or not. If you don't respond to this notice specifically by mentioning it at WT:TOON (not my talkpage or here, I won't be watchlisting talkpages) or removing your name from the list I'll assume you are no longer interested and will remove your name. Hope you decide to work here again. treelo radda 18:19, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Nomination of Pat Robertson controversies for deletion

While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pat Robertson controversies until a concensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. mark nutley (talk) 19:32, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Template:Remove-section is up for discussion
[edit]Template:Remove-section has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Basically, to me it looks like in practice it invites deletion of useful content, and I'd like it to be superseded entirely by templates that say what's wrong with the section. [edit]File permission problem with File:America- Wake Up or Waco.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:America- Wake Up or Waco.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to Template:NoSpamEmail, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add Template:Tl to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to Template:NoSpamEmail.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as Template:Tlp or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in [[[:fullurl:Special:Log]] your upload log]. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 20:55, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit]WikiCup 2013 February newsletter
[edit]Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.
Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:
- Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, primarily for an array of warship GAs.
- Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
- Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.
Other contributors of note include:
- Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, whose Portal:Massachusetts is the first featured portal this year. The featured portal process is one of the less well-known featured processes, and featured portals have traditionally had little impact on WikiCup scores.
- Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, whose Mycena aurantiomarginata was the first featured article this year.
- Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4 and Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, who both claimed points for articles in the Major League Baseball tie-breakers topic, the first topic points in the competition.
- Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4, who claimed for the first full good topic with the Casting Crowns studio albums topic.
Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant4: did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...
March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!
A few final administrative issues. From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. File permission problem with File:Ocoee Middle Front Sign.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Ocoee Middle Front Sign.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add Template:Tl to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as Template:Tl or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.
You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 20:12, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

The file File:Jason Robinson.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the Template:Tlc notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing Template:Tlc will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
