Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Eugène Langenove article, and I couldn't find one either. If you have a reliable source please let me know and we can change the article. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 15:24, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A question

[edit]

I am glad you are enjoying my English pages about the French players of the early 20th century. You have been doing this (albeit on the French wiki) for two decades, so I assume that you have gathered a lot of knowledge about these people over the years.

I am not sure if you remember, but about 10 years ago, on 25 November 2014, you added a lot of info to the French wiki page of fr:Championnat de France de football 1901 (USFSA), including many first names, such as “Alexander” Davidson, “Henry” Bone, “Alfred” Short, “Frederick” Smith, “Arthur” Ellis, or “Edward” Theobald; which is odd, since none of the references mentions their full names, and I can't find them anywhere, so my question is, how do you know that these are their names?

If you have a source, place its link here. Kind regards Barr Theo (talk) 23:05, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I do because you are doing a good job. I searched a source where I found these full names (it might be in the other USFSA or Dewar pages in Wikipedia), but I can't remember. I will search again in the next days. Kind regards. Efilguht (talk) 13:13, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have finally found it. Efilguht (talk) 18:11, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again!! Thanks to that source, I was able to create Henry Bone, who reached an impressive size of 10,6K bytes.
By the way, do you have any clue of what the first name of fr:H. F. Roques might be?
Kind regards. Barr Theo (talk) 04:59, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, nice work (Henry Bone)! I didn't find the first name of "(H. ?) F. Roques" (only F. Roques in French medias), but there were at least 3 Roques in the Standard teams (W. Roques and E. Roques in the Standard's second team). Kind regards. Efilguht (talk) 09:52, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, the source you gave me was not useful for Roques, but it turned out to be useful for Maurice Macaire, Ernest Weber, and Georges Delolme.
Anyways, here's my last request (I hope): The line-ups of the 1897 Club Français v English Ramblers football match have some individuals with no first name. Are you aware of any more information about CF's Strittmatter, Bruno, Laisné, and then Marshall... I know that Marshall later played for Paris Star and then became a football member of the USFSA in 1903. Thanks for your help and kind regards. Barr Theo (talk) 17:27, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
