Minor edits
[edit] I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Biquaternion functions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Hi Fram. This was an attempt at a REDIRECT which I will not try to do again, especially not for a Talk, which I now understand is to only be in the background and for editors' use. I now understand that links are only to be to Articles, not to Talks. When #REDIRECT Talk:ArticleTitle with Talk:ArticleTitle enclosed in double square brackets didn't work, I instead put in "Go to 'Talk:ArticleTitle'". In my sandbox I am now in the process of turning that Talk into an Article, which I will submit to Wikipedia for consideration when finished. DonaldWP (talk) 19:34, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
Cross-namespace links
[edit]Wikipedia articles form the published content of the encyclopaedia, addressed to readers. Other pages, such as talk pages, policies, discussion pages, and so on, are in the background, addressed to editors of the encyclopaedia. Apart from a very limited range of very exceptional circumstances, articles should not link to pages other than articles. JBW (talk) 14:48, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- In my sandbox I am now in the process of turning a talk into an article, which I will submit to Wikipedia for consideration when finished. I did not understand the background nature of talks and what talks were supposed to be used for. Now I do. I will only do links to articles in the future. Also, I will not try to create a redirect page again. I had tried to create redirects to the talk using #REDIRECT Talk:ArticleTitle but Wikipedia would not accept this so I instead put "Go to 'Talk:ArticleTitle'" in the page. Again, this will not happen again. I apologize for not being completely knowledgeable about Wikipedia's policies and will be more careful in the future. DonaldWP (talk) 19:08, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 2
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Complex quaternion functions, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Springer. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
