- Hi, Ck17762006! I appreciate that you're attempting to fix a perceived error by changing Lemuel to Samuel, but according to the article's source (Our Campaigns) his name was in fact Lemuel. Samuel Dexter was an unrelated person living around the same time. Let me know if you have any concerns or questions! Quid Est Squid (talk) 01:13, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- Samuel Dexter did in fact run three unsuccessful campaigns for Massachusetts Governor in 1814,1815, and 1816. So either I'm wrong or Samuel Dexter's wikipedia page is. "DEXTER, Samuel - Biographical Information" Ck17762006 (talk) 01:20, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, and I think I'm indeed in the wrong here. Upon looking into the article's source and running a quick Google search, it seems like this Lemuel Dexter is an invention of one Thomas Walker in 2005. Our Campaigns isn't a reliable source, since it's user-generated - my mistake for missing that as well. The source you provided states that Samuel Dexter ran for governor in 1816, but I can't find a source stating he ran in 1815; I'm afraid I'm far out of my depth now. If you'd happen to have any more information, that would be great. If not, no worries, I'll see what I can dig up. Thanks for your patience. Quid Est Squid (talk) 01:33, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
