== Draft:Harold L.”Hal”Yinger

Hi and thanks for reply. We were communicating on Jan 30th about my Coi in creating article for my deceased dad to be included in the catagory Central Missouri Mules football coaches. I created a user page and reported I have a Coi on user page and the talk page for the Cat Mules football coaches. You asked if I wanted you to insert it that on my page. Ok by me. Andy Yinger (talk) 21:53, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Andy, I have added the COI box in your user page. However, I cant add the article name as there is no article about your dad in English Wikipedia. You can create a draft article about your dad as long as the subject (your dad) meet the WP:GNG requirements.
To meet the I recommend that you read WP:Your first article and adhere to the provided instructions before beginning the creation of an article.

GNG is defined as the subject must fulfill specific criteria to demonstrate significant coverage from independent and reliable sources. These sources should provide in-depth discussions about the subject rather than merely offering passing mentions. This requirement is essential for verification, which is a core policy of Wikipedia. If a source is affiliated/associated/connected with the subject—such as the subject's marketing team, company, social media platforms, information in interviews of the subject or any self-published information—this indicates a lack of independence. Consequently, such sources cannot be utilized to satisfy the notability guidelines. Sources originating from educational institutions, government entities, foundations, social media platforms, and private companies are regarded as unreliable. In contrast, materials published by "major" newspapers and "reputable" books are typically considered reliable sources.

Once the draft article is created then you can submit the draft article for review.
Please see Appleton A. Mason, Randy Hedberg and Jackie Shipp for examples for your draft (click on edit mode to see the wikitext) and pls use the horizontal format of Template:Cite web for inline citation if the source is from the web and use Template:Cite book if the source is from a book.

I am I estimate half way through creating article in my sandbox. If you read articles in the catagory Central Missouri Mule’s football coaches, the references are varied, news papers, media guides, obituaries not discussions or book references. This article is just as important as the others in that category central Missouri football coaches! I want to know what do I do after completing the article in my sandbox.
Thanks Andy Yinger (talk) 01:27, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(1) you need to read WP:Your first article first. (2) under "Where to start writing" and click "create your draft article via wizard". (3) The examples (articles) are for your references. You need to follow the GNG guidelines above to have the page published. References such as from the books and newspapers are those will get the draft article (the subject /you father) published in Wikipedia main space. You might want to check some references from "Way back machine" for articles before the internet was introduced. Remember pls read WP:Your first article thoroughly and follow the format of the examples provided (which even suit you article the best). Cassiopeia talk 01:54, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi and again thanks for the information. I have problems. Please see my sandbox as this error came up long after I inserted it in red it is template: cite news. I clicked on it and was instructed to type in blank page then publish. I tried to create cite as been doing using template then insert but error still shows on draft in my sandbox. Secondly, I want to know if I can copy the text from sandbox to the draft page. Hope so as I do not think I will ever finish this. Too much bad problems with iPad or word processor? Thanks Andy Yinger (talk) 22:46, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As I mentioned twice before, pls read (1) you need to read WP:Your first article first. (2) under "Where to start writing" and click "create your draft article via wizard". (3) The examples (articles) are for your references. You need to use the draft page for article and use the format of one of the above articles for your draft. Once you have created the draft page. Send me the link (URL) or the Draft page name then I will check the issues for you. Note: Sandbos is for experimenting with Wikipedia editing especially on Help:Wikitext and not for housing draft article. You need to create a draft article and the name of the draft article should be your father's name. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 23:05, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Draft name is Harold L. “Hal” Yinger. I had great difficulty creating the table about dad’s coaching record. I will gladly update article to look like the others in that catagory but do not know how to crest them. Please advise and thanks. Andy Yinger (talk) 22:07, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry create tables as in other articles. Andy Yinger (talk) 22:07, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have add the infox box (top right) on the draft article. You need to modify/add the info accordingly that also apply to the coach record if you want to use the one I added. If you dont want to use it then just remove it. I have sections the page and pls fill in the info accordingly with sources. May I know the sources you added do they call the subject Harold Yinger or Hal Yinger as we need to change the draft article name as per common name (the name the subject mostly referred to). You can see the changes and edit summary on the draft article history page - see HERE. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 04:27, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for putting the info boxes on draft. Let’s change dad went by Hal. I question why the info box is not showing up after I did all this inputting? And why is coaching record showing all yellow in boxes? He had no conf championships and not sure I can find conf win loss record. Finally, should I cut out some of the narrative as the boxes show a lot and keep info on track? Andy Yinger (talk) 02:29, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
