Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Tourism in Singapore, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. ----Rdp060707|talk 16:25, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why you are seeing this message: Your current IP address is blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to belong to a VPN or proxy service.

These types of services are commonly used for abusive editing and circumventing Wikipedia policies, so Wikipedia blocks them as a preventive measure — even if you personally haven't done anything wrong.

How to fix it:

  • Turn off VPNs, proxies, or tools like iCloud Private Relay (for Apple users) or Microsoft Edge Secure Network. This is the most frequent reason users encounter this block.
  • Try a different connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or use a home network instead of a public or work one.
  • Whitelist Wikipedia. You may be able to whitelist Wikipedia from your VPN so that connections to Wikipedia aren't through a VPN service. Instructions for whitelisting Wikipedia on iCloud Private Relay can be found here.
  • Still blocked? If you believe you are not running an anonymizing proxy or Tor, you should consider checking the configuration to make sure it is accurate. Sometimes the configuration for your network is changed without your knowledge, sometimes by malware. In truly exceptional circumstances, you may request IP block exemption. Approval is limited and based on specific criteria, and you should only request it if you have no other way to edit Wikipedia.

Note: These blocks are about the type of internet connection, not your actions. We appreciate good-faith contributors and want to help you get editing again.

How to appeal if you are confident that your connection does not use a webhost provider's IP address:
If you are confident that you are not using a web host, you may appeal this block by adding the following text on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Caught by a web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is _______. Place any further information here. ~~~~}}. You must fill in the blank with your IP address for this block to be investigated. Your IP address can be determined here. Alternatively, if you wish to keep your IP address private you can use the unblock ticket request system. There are several reasons you might be editing using the IP address of a web host provider (such as if you are using VPN software or a business network); please use this method of appeal only if you think your IP address is in fact not a web host provider.
Information for administrators:
Administrators: The IP block exemption user right should only be applied to allow users to edit using web host in exceptional circumstances, and requests should usually be directed to the functionaries team via email. If you intend to give the IPBE user right, a CheckUser needs to take a look at the account. This can be requested most easily at SPI Quick Checkuser Requests. Unblocking an IP or IP range with this template is highly discouraged without at least contacting the blocking administrator.
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Caught by a web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is 4.39.220.106. This is actually a School IP address. For evidence it's a school IP, you can see it is never edited on weekends. Thank you. 4.39.220.106 (talk) 15:49, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Yes, schools often use webhosts. For immediate access to most editing, please create an account, which the block allows. 331dot (talk) 06:12, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Educational institution IP address
To edit, please create an account at home and log in with it here.

Due to persistent vandalism, anonymous editing from your school, library, or educational institution's IP address may be blocked (disabled). You will continue to have access to read the encyclopedia. If you are logged in but still unable to edit, please follow these instructions. To prevent abuse, account creation via this IP address might also be disabled.

If account creation is disabled and you are unable to create an account elsewhere, you can request one by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Request an account. Please check on this list that the username you choose has not already been taken. If editing is required for class projects, please have your instructor or network administrator contact us (with reference to this IP address) at the Unblock Ticket Request System with a contact email address that is listed on your school's website. Thank you for your cooperation.

4.39.220.106, it's all good. Create an account at home and use it at school. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:43, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i made a article. will my article be deleted because I got banned? I'm scared. 4.39.220.106 (talk) 19:45, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As IP editors cannot directly create new articles, I will assume you are referring to Polystachya virginea. No, it will not be deleted because of the block.
As far as I can tell, the block was for your school's IP, not aimed at you as an individual. You may create an account at home to continue editing, like ToBeFree has suggested. Cheers! x RozuRozu teacups 05:29, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
