Who this is

[edit]

This user is interested in South and Southeast Asian railways, especially during the era of steam and its twilight.

What they do

[edit]

This user improves different articles about the aforementioned topics by sourcing content from publicly available online magazines such as the Locomotive, Railway Carriage & Wagon Review from the Locomotive Publishing Company. Content is also sourced from books, and any reliable sources that does not bear semblance to user blogs, or the like.

Projects

[edit]

At the time of writing, the user is drafting an article on the British Engineering Standards Association (BESA) design 1000mm gauge 4-6-0 mixed-traffic locomotives for British Indian railways. Once complete, the user may draft articles about the other BESA 1000mm gauge design engines. The user has submitted a draft article of the Thai Japanese Pacific locomotives with readily available sources. There exist articles about the locomotives in Thai, but the user has been advised by Thai internet users who are enthusiasts of the Thai railways (especially steam era) that the aforementioned Thai articles may contain original research nonsense and dubious quality, so the user has decided to draft this from scratch. Anyone with reliable reports/information about these locomotives are strongly encouraged and are welcome to contribute/translate information to this developing article.

The user is also working on a draft article about the entire series of BESA design locomotives drafted by another user as a rough translation of a German article.

Why Wikipedia

[edit]

This user made the bold decision to contribute towards improving railway articles since they weren't pleased with what they saw at the time.

When they edit

[edit]

This user edits as they obtain sources, whether physical (primarilly books) or online. Also this user edits at their own pace and will.
