Sanoop Thykoodam (born 31 May 1988) is an Indian film writer, director, and actor known for his work in the Malayalam film industry. He rose to prominence through his directorial debut Sumesh & Ramesh (2021), and has contributed as a writer to popular Malayalam films including Chunkzz (2017), Vikruthi (2019), and the upcoming titles Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies] (2025).

Early life

Sanoop Thykoodam was born and raised in Thykoodam, a locality in Kochi, Kerala, India. He pursued his higher education at Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, which has produced many acclaimed artists and filmmakers in Kerala. He grew up in a close-knit family.

Career

Sanoop began his career in the Malayalam film industry as a screenwriter. His early writing credits include the comedy film Chunkzz (2017), where he contributed screenplay and dialogues, and Vikruthi (2019), for which he wrote the dialogues.

In 2021, he made his directorial debut with Sumesh & Ramesh, a comedy-drama that explores the sibling relationship between two quirky brothers in small-town Kerala. The film was praised for its fresh take on family dynamics and local humor.

He is actively working as a writer in the industry, with his latest project, Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies, currently in production.
